Staff Week: Recognition and Digitalization

We are pleased to invite you to our staff week on Recognition and Digitalization. The staff week is jointly organized by Mannheim’s Central Examination Committee, the School of Social Sciences and the School of Humanities in cooperation with Tampere University. The staff week aims to create room for reflecting on current and future practices of recognition and aspects of digitalization in evolving contexts of higher education. Participants are asked to contribute their experiences, challenges or solutions. The staff week is conducted as a Blended Intensive Programme.

  • Target Group

    Academic and non-academic staff from all fields from partner institutions of Erasmus+ programme countries (please specify in the registration form)

  • Dates

    Virtual part:      24 May, 2023

    Physical part:    3–7 July, 2023 at the University of Mannheim

  • Objectives

    • Sharing experiences and good practices in digitalization and recognition among colleagues;
    • Assessing present and future challenges of digitalization and recognition under novel conditions (post-pandemic higher education in teaching and administration, adopting/adapting to developments in generative AI such as ChatGPT, exam security in a digital environment);
    • Exploring innovative routes to address these challenges;
    • Synthesizing perspectives of academic and administrative staff: teaching, examination office, faculties/departments, university library, international office;
    • Identifying the potential for collaborative problem-solving in these contexts and strengthening our partner networks
  • Programme

    • Presentations and workshops on digital examination and recognition, digital teaching and digitalization projects from different intra-institutional contexts;
    • Presentations given by participants: we welcome contributions from academic and administrative staff on all related topics in the field of digitalization and recognition;
    • Campus Tour, Baroque Mannheim Palace, ExpLAB, and more facilities;
    • Cultural programme in Mannheim and the neighbouring Palatinate wine region

    We don't charge any fee. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the participants (or by an Erasmus+ scholarship if applicable).
