Politikwissenschaft, Analytical International Politics
My academic interests lie within the realm of peace and conflict studies, with a specific focus on the micro-dynamics of political violence and the role of humanitarian organizations and peacekeepers in armed conflicts.
Currently, my research centers on the climate-conflict-peacebuilding nexus. I am investigating how peacebuilding communities in the Sahel and East Africa are tackling climate change-related threats that exacerbate communal conflicts.
Additionally, I am engaged in a book project that explores how humanitarian aid workers signal their neutrality during conflicts.
Methodologically, I employ a mixed-method research approach, integrating causal modeling of spatial conflict event data and satellite imagery of climate impacts with qualitative techniques such as process tracing and fieldwork interviews.
