First Meeting of the GRTL Alliance

The GRTL Alliance held its first-ever meeting in Mannheim on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, marking an important step in strengthening international collaboration in this emerging field.
The meeting brought together Prof. Ann Kristin Glenster (Cambridge University), who travelled to Mannheim for the occasion, alongside GRTL co-founders Prof. Marc Ratkovic and Dr. Eirliani Abdul Rahman (both University of Mannheim), Prof. Beate Ochsner (University of Konstanz) joined remotely.
Among the highlights of the meeting was an agreement to develop a joint proposal to a research council aimed at deepening collaboration and enabling future exchanges of this kind. Participants also discussed concrete projects including a future convening here in Mannheim as well as potential partnerships with international organizations. These collaborations will focus on pressing issues such as Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) and the epistemic rights surrounding AI.
