Gwendolyn Mingham receives Franz-Urban-Pappi-Prize

Gwendolyn Mingham receives Franz-Urban-Pappi-Prize for their Master thesis „LGB without the T? Testing the Transferability of International Gay Norm Diffusion Predictors on Transgender Rights“.

We are excited to announce that Gwendolyn Mingham was awarded the Franz-Urban-Pappi Prize for their master's thesis, supervised by Prof. Thomas Gschwend, exploring whether predictors of LGB rights expansion apply to transgender rights. The study argues that trans rights face greater resistance due to their challenge to binary gender norms. With original theory, self-collected data from 49 countries, and advanced statistical analysis, the work makes a significant contribution to research on norm diffusion and minority rights. Gwendolyn is now a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich.

 Congratulations, Gwenny!
