The Faculty’s Bodies and Commitees

The members of a school are divided into different groups. In addition to the professors, who make up one group, there are academic staff members, non-academic staff members, and students. All groups at the School of Social Sciences have one or several representatives in the different committees and bodies that are in charge of its self-governance processes.

The School also has its own equal opportunities commissioner, who, together with her deputies, tends to all equality-related matters.

  • Faculty Equal Opportunities Officer

The Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty is involved in the implementation of equal opportunities for women and men and in the elimination of existing disadvantages for female academics and students at the Faculty. She is elected by the Faculty Council and is a member of the group of professors. She is also assigned to the faculty management as a representative of the Dean's Office. Her two deputies are also elected by the Faculty Council and come from the other two departments of the faculty. In this way, all three departments (Political Science, Psychology and Sociology) are represented. The Faculty Equal Opportunities Officer or one of her deputies is a member of the Faculty's appointment and selection committees.

  • Departmental representatives (formerly student councils)

The students of the Faculty of Social Sciences are represented by two departmental representatives: The Faculty Representation for Sociology and Political Science and the Faculty Representation for Psychology.

They are the voice of the students and the first point of contact for the faculty management in student matters. In addition, members of the departmental representatives are elected members of the Study Commission and the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The departmental representatives themselves are responsible for the content of the respective pages. Please send any questions, suggestions or criticism to the person responsible.
