Welcome to the School of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim!

I am delighted that you have chosen our university. You are about to enter a new stage of your life full of opportunities, but also challenges. The dean’s office of our School will provide you with services and support during your studies, from the beginning to the end. We will get to know each other during the orientation week, and I will be at your side while you are studying and having a wonderful time at the university. Orientation week

Introductory events take place in the week before the lectures (29.08.2022 – 04.09.2022). 

General information to the beginning of your studies and introductory events can be found online.

  • Bachelor Students: 1 September 2022, 11:00 o'clock in room B 244 in A5, 6 (Building B)
  • Bachelor of Education Students: 31 August 2022, 14:00 o'clock  in room B 318 in A5, 6 (Bulding B)
  • Master Students: 29 August 2022, 11:00 o'clock in room B 318 in A5, 6 (Building B)

We highly recommend to take part in the orientation events. 

On 6 September 2022, Prof. Dr. Michael Diehl, the Dean of the School of Social Sciences, will welcome all first semester students.
