Mandatory Internship in the Bachelor’s Programs in Political Science and Sociology

Internships are part of the curriculum in both the bachelor’s program in Political Science and the bachelor's program in Sociology at the School of Social Sciences. They enable students to gain professional experience at an early stage of their career and establish valuable corporate connections. You can create a mandatory internship certificate yourself via AretUM.

The Internship Office will help you find a suitable internship position and assist you in applying and preparing for it.

Important Documents

  • Request for Recognition of an Internship

  • Deadlines for Submission of Internship Documents

Please make sure that you are re-registered for the semester in which the submission period for the internship falls. This also applies if the internship is the last exam to be completed in your degree programme.  For example, if you complete an internship up to and including August, you can submit it for recognition (=examination date) no earlier than 1 September. This deadline is in the autumn/winter semester (1 August to 31 January). The recognition of the internship therefore requires a re-registration for the autumn/winter semester. If you do not wish to continue to be enrolled after submitting the internship documents, you can exmatriculate on the same day as 1 September.

  • Guidelines Internship Report

  • Declaration of Authorship

  • Compulsory Internship Certificate

If you want to do an internship, some internship employers require a mandatory internship certificate. This is a proof that you have to complete an internship during your studies. You can now create the mandatory internship certificate yourself via AretUM. Together with a current certificate of enrollment, you can present this certificate to your internship if required. You can also use AretUM to edit your learning agreements for a semester abroad.
