Research at the Department of Psychology

At the Department of Psychology, research lies in the hands of its nine chairs, which conduct both basic and applied research. Its key feature is the close connection between disciplines of basic research and methodology on the one hand and disciplines of applied research on the other.

Basic research focuses on cognitive psychology, and the following chairs can be attributed to this area:

  • Experimental Psychology
  • Cognition and Individual Difference
  • Research Methods and Psychological Assessment 

In applied research, emphasis is placed on work, economy and health, education, teaching and learning, and mental disorders, which are represented by the following chairs:

  • Work and Organizational Psychology
  • Consumer and Economic Psychology
  • Health Psychology
  • Psychology of Education
  • Educational Psychology
  • Clinical Psychology, Biological Psychology and Psychotherapy
