“Career Talk at Noon” series: Your first funding application – dos and don’ts (with senior professor Dr. Edgar Erdfelder)

via Zoom

Dear doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers,

We would like to draw your attention to a series of short online events in the fall/winter semester, organized by the Postdoc Career Academy and the Research Support Team in Division I.  The “Career Talk at Noon” series will focus on career-related topics for Early Career Researchers and aims to inform you about funding opportunities after the doctorate, special funding programs by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and national foundations, provide you with tips on career planning and funding applications and get you in touch with contact persons and grantees at the University of Mannheim.

The lectures take place at irregular intervals on Wednesdays between noon and 1 p.m. via Zoom. Just tune in!

18 September: Career planning in academia

16 October: Funding opportunities for postdocs – an overview

6 November: The Walter Benjamin Program of the DFG – insights from a grantee at the University of Mannheim (with Dr. Daniela Kuschel)

28 November (Thursday!): The „Eliteprogramm“ of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation – insights from a fellow at the University of Mannheim (with junior professor Alex Spike Gibbs, Ph.D.)

11 December: Your first funding application – dos and don’ts (with senior professor Dr. Edgar Erdfelder)

We will send reminders with the Zoom link in good time before each event. The access data will also be available on our homepage after the summer break.

Have a great summertime!
