On 24 June, 12 p.m. TransforMA will host a symposium (English: The Other Self – The Immersive Human Being) at Altes Volksbad Mannheim that highlights new approaches to using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) to overcome social isolation.

Experts from the fields of social work, academia, technology, and culture will discuss how immersive formats can make identity tangible, enhance empathy, and promote social participation.

In addition to panel discussions, the symposium will offer practical case studies and interactive experience spaces. The aim is to develop innovative approaches that foster self-efficacy, educational equity, and cultural participation – and to explore the transformative potential of digital technologies for social innovation.
