STADTRADELN 2025: Cycling for the Climate

The cycling campaign organized by the Climate Alliance is entering a new round. From 23 June to 7 July, everyone is once again encouraged to pedal for climate protection and to go about their daily lives as CO₂-neutrally as possible. Members of the University of Mannheim can now register for the university team.

STADTRADELN is kicking off another round: During the three-week campaign period, every kilometer traveled by bike counts—whether during a private bike tour or a work-related trip. The campaign is supported by the RadKULTUR initiative of the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg and by many local partners.

Members of the University can participate via the STADTRADELN Mannheim page of the Institute of Sports (IFS). Individuals may join the main team “Uni Mannheim” or create their own subteam, for example for their department, institute, or other groups. All kilometers collected will automatically be counted toward the overall result of the “Uni Mannheim” team. Registration is possible until the last day of the campaign. It does not matter where the kilometers are traveled—climate protection does not stop at city or state borders.

While STADTRADELN focuses on fun, promoting cycling, and climate protection, it is also a competition in which participants can win prizes: STADTRADELN awards prizes to the team with the most total kilometers (absolute) and to the team with the most kilometers per team member (relative). Additional prizes will be raffled among all participants.

Get involved and support the mobility transition, the promotion of cycling in the metropolitan region, and climate protection.
