An international study conducted by the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research under the direction of Prof. Dr. Marc Helbling systematically compares radicalism, extremism and fundamentalism in Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands for the first time. It reveals many socio-demographic similarities – for example, among younger, less educated men who feel socially disadvantaged – as well as certain differences between the various forms, thus providing important insights for prevention and countermeasures.
