After Water Damage: Rittersaal Reopened

After being closed for ten months, the Rittersaal in the main building of Mannheim Schloss has been reopened by the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg. In February 2024, a sprinkler system caused water damage, necessitating extensive renovations to the historic hall.

The restoration focused on the historical parquet flooring. Experts used glue injections to stabilize it at more than 20,000 points, uncovering the wood structure. The surface remains unsealed to highlight the ornamental details.

The 360-square-meter Rittersaal is one of the most significant Baroque banquet halls in southern Germany. It is now available again for concerts, weddings, and events. For more information and scheduling, visit: www.schloss-mannheim.de
