Sarah Forst and Andreas Glöckner demonstrate that intuitive and deliberative decisions can be explained using a cognitive process model. According to this model, information is processed in parallel until one option clearly prevails. The model reliably predicts not only the decisions themselves but also decision-making time and subjective certainty, and contributes to the debate on dual-process models.
