Talk at NATO Innovation Continuum 2026 SPARK Event

Prof. Ratkovic was a speaker at the NATO Innovation Continuum 2026 SPARK Event, where he gave a talk titled „Targeted Behavioral Risk Intelligence: Early Detection and Intervention on Radicalization“.

The NATO Innovation Continuum is a strategic framework designed by NATO Allied Command Transformation to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies into the Alliance’s defense capabilities. By bridging the gap between academic research and operational military needs, it creates a “fast lane” for translating bold ideas into practical solutions. The process brings together a diverse ecosystem of startups, established industry leaders, and world-class researchers to tackle complex security challenges through a structured cycle of experimentation and validation.

The cycle begins with the SPARK Event, which serves as the critical scoping phase where the roadmap for the entire year is established. Hosted in Sofia, Bulgaria from February 24–26, 2026, SPARK acts as a collaborative launchpad where NATO experts and innovation partners define operational challenges and identify cutting-edge technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence, cyber resilience, and autonomous systems—that can enhance collective security. For the academic community, this event provides a unique opportunity to align high-level research with real-world requirements, ensuring that scientific excellence contributes directly to global stability and technological sovereignty.
