Supported by the Margarete von Wrangell Programme: Prof. Dr. Melanie Sauter

Professor Melanie Sauter and Dr. Kristina Petrova are investigating how politics and society react to climate-induced migration – with a focus on migration destinations and post-migration experiences.

Prof. Dr. Melanie Sauter is being funded as part of the Margarete von Wrangell Junior Professorship Programme. Together with Dr Kristina Petrova, whose research examines the relationship between climate change, migration and conflict, they will pursue a project on climate-induced migration. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of the interactions between political institutions, social actors and climate policy – particularly with regard to migration destinations and post-migratory experiences.
