Oke Bahnsen is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim and a research associate at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). He holds both a Master’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Economics/Politics from the University of Kiel. During his studies, he spend one semester abroad at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

His substantial research focuses on coalition politics and electoral behavior, where he is especially interested in pre-electoral coalition politics and how it affects electoral behavior. He is also interested in quantitative and computational methods, particularly in agent-based models which he utilizes, e.g., in order to study party competition and opinion dynamics.
