Anna Adendorf is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioural Sciences (CDSS) and a researcher at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). Furthermore, she is the Equal Opportunities Officer at the MZES. She holds a Bachelor and Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim, with a stay abroad at University of Essex, UK. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Chair of Political Science III (Prof. Dr. Marc Debus, Comparative Government) and the Department of Government at the University of Essex.

Anna's research focuses on party competition in multi-level systems, especially on how political parties communicate their positions and goals to the electorate. She studies parties' ideological positioning and coalition politics on both the national and sub-national levels. Anna uses quantitative text analysis in order to understand the dynamics of party competition and communication.
