The Rhine-Neckar AI Lab is a partnership between the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association and the Chair for Statistics and Methodoloy, Prof. Kreuter, and the Chair for Artificial Intelligence, Prof. Stuckenschmidt at the University of Mannheim. The project is funded by the „Initiative Wirtschaft 4.0“ of the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Housing (Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Wohnungsbau) of Baden-Württemberg as part of the digitization strategy of the state of Baden-Württemberg: digital(at)bw.
„What is AI and how do I use it?“, these and similar questions are answered by the two chairs together with the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association in the Rhine-Neckar AI Lab. Also on the agenda are regional companies' requirements in the field of AI. In addition, the portfolio includes innovation coaching, further training courses and regular networking and exchange formats. „We want to make the AI expertise in the region available to the economy in a transparent and low-threshold way,“ says Boris Schmitt from the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association, describing the intention of the AI Lab foundation. „There is no need to be afraid of 'artificial intelligence'; anyone can acquire the necessary knowledge or have possible applications in their own company examined,“ says Prof. Kreuter, and Prof. Heiner Stuckenschmidt, Chair of Artificial Intelligence, continues: „AI is more than machine learning - when using this technology, all you have to do is look at the future of your business model with an open mind.
