Professor Dr. Georg W. Alpers is the Chair of the Department of Clinical and Biological Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Mannheim. His work focuses on the investigation of anxiety and other emotions, as well as sensory perception and ambulatory monitoring. As a licensed psychotherapist and registered supervisor, he directs the University's Outpatient Clinic and is a member of the executive committee of the training Centre for Psychological Psychotherapy (ZPP). He has been the managing director of the Otto-Selz-Institute since 2011.
