Professor Dr. Thomas König and his team focus their analytical-empirical research on the development and application of theories of political decision making. Currently, the main area of research is on political reforms applied to the study of the European Union, United Nations, Kyoto and domestic Politics within the Collaborative Research Center “Political Economy of Reforms”. The aim is to improve the understanding of politics, which is acknowledged internationally. The teaching comprises courses on European and comparative politics for undergraduate and graduate students, mostly in English. Qualified graduate students can also take part in tuition-free exchange programs with leading U.S. universities such as New York University, Rice University, Washington University in St. Louis.
