Fatih Erol, Ph.D. (he/him)

Fatih Erol is an incoming postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Political Science, International Relations, University of Mannheim. He was previously a postdoctoral researcher in political psychology at the University of Idaho and, before that, a research social scientist at the University of Arizona. He holds a Ph.D. from Koç University and held a pre-doctoral research appointment at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His book, “Sleepy Citizenship: The Biopolitics of Rest in American Democracy”, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press. His research spans comparative political behavior and political psychology, combining causal inference and measurement with multinational, multimode surveys, survey experiments, lab experiments, and physiological data collection. His work has appeared in Political Psychology, Electoral Studies, and the International Journal of Public Opinion Research, among other outlets. He serves on the editorial board of Political Psychology and as a member of the Governing Council of the Association for Politics and the Life Sciences.
