    Amina Elbarbary is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the CDSS.  She obtained her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Mannheim. During her Bachelor’s, she interned at a think tank and research institute in Egypt involved in conflict resolution, peacebuilding and peacekeeping operations. She also holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim.  During her studies, she worked as a working student at SAP SE as well as a research assistant at the Chair of Political Science, Political Economy.

     

    In her Master Thesis, she focused on the effect of blasphemy laws on self-censorship on politically sensitive topics in both democracies and non-democracies. Amina is particularly interested in game theory, formal modelling and how public policies affect individuals’ behaviours and preferences.
