Profil
Christian Schnaudt studierte Politikwissenschaft sowie Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft an der Universität Mannheim. Nach seinem Studium arbeitete er dort als akademischer Mitarbeiter und Dozent am Lehrstuhl für Politische Wissenschaft und International Vergleichende Sozialforschung und verbrachte Forschungsaufenthalte an der Universität Twente (Niederlande) sowie an der Tschechischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Prag (2009–2015). Seine Promotion mit dem Titel „Political Confidence and Democracy in Europe: Antecedents and Consequences of Citizens' Confidence in Representative and Regulative Institutions and Authorities“ schloss er 2017 am Fachbereich für Politikwissenschaft der Universität Mannheim ab. Von 2014–2017 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der deutschen Teilstudie des European Social Survey (ESS) an der Universität Bielefeld sowie am Mannheimer Zentrum für Europäische Sozialforschung (MZES) tätig, bevor er von 2017–2020 bei GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften als Projektmanager für die Planung, Koordinierung und Durchführung der deutschen Erhebung des ESS zuständig war. Seit Juni 2020 arbeitet er als akademischer Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Politikwissenschaft, Politische Soziologie. In der Zeit vom 01. Oktober 2022 bis 31. März 2023 vertrat Herr Dr. Schnaudt die Professur für Empirisch-Analytische Partizipationsforschung am Institut für Politische Wissenschaft der Universität Heidelberg.
Herrn Schnaudts Forschungsinteressen und Expertisen liegen in den Bereichen der politischen Einstellungs- und Verhaltensforschung (insb. elektorale Integrität, politische Unterstützung und politische Partizipation), der international vergleichenden Sozialforschung sowie der Umfragemethodik.
