Conference for Early-Career Researchers
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, directly after the main conference, the conference for Early-career researchers of the GEBF will take place. We are pleased to offer Early-career researchers an interesting program and a variety of opportunities for exchange.
In addition to a wide range of methodological workshops, there will be two structured poster sessions in which the current status of qualification work can be presented and discussed (see also Call). One poster session will focus on survey designs and is aimed at Early-career researchers who are currently preparing an empirical study. Another poster session focuses on evaluation strategies. Here, studies will be discussed in which data and possibly initial results are already available.
The organization of the conference is in the hands of Prof. Andreas Rausch.
Program
The program booklet with all information about the main and junior conference, the general conditions and the overview of the individual sessions can now be viewed here.
Submission of contributions
The registration of contributions (posters) for the Nachwuchstagung takes place via ConfTool. It is still possible until October 31, 2024, although an abstract is not yet required for registration. An abstract must be submitted together with the poster by December 31, 2024. Uploading the poster (as a PDF) and the abstract by December 31, 2024 is a prerequisite for participation in the structured poster session, where participants will receive feedback on their contribution from senior researchers. The contribution can be submitted in German or English. To be submitted:
Until October 31, 2024
- Name of the author with institutional assignment
- Title of contribution
Until December 31, 2024
- Abstract (maximum 600 words plus literature) and the poster in PDF format
The contribution can be assigned to the session “Survey design” or “Evaluation strategies” and should include the following content Relevance; theoretical framework; research questions (& hypotheses, if applicable); method; and (initial) results, if applicable. In addition, you can assign up to 5 individual keywords to the abstract.
The posters are to be designed exclusively in DIN-A0 and portrait format. They must be printed out and brought to the conference.
A contribution as first author at the Junior Researchers' Conference does not restrict the possibility to contribute as first author at the main conference.
We welcome submissions in English!
The Abstract and Posters can be submitted in both German or English.

Running with the Professors:Anyone who meets up with colleagues for a run at 7 a.m. on a conference morning in January has their life under control and quite rightly earns great recognition. So off we go: The meeting point is 7 a.m. at the entrance to the Ehrenhof (the large courtyard in the middle of the palace). A metropolitan idyll of sandstone and concrete between the Rhine and Neckar rivers is waiting to be discovered at a moderate pace. Everyone is welcome – no registration necessary, but it starts on time.
We also offer a wide range of childcare services during the conference.
Registration as a participant
Registration as a participant for the conference is open. It takes place via ConfTool.
Participation fee
The participation fee for the Young Talent Conference is €30.
