Congratulations to our staff member Johannes Lattmann for the publication of the first paper of his dissertation. “The electoral effect of pork barrel politics: evidence from England” examines the impact of the distribution of public money on voting behavior in the 2019 election in England. The results suggest that constituencies that received money from the Towns Fund had higher levels of support for the ruling party. These findings underscore the importance of transparency in the distribution of public funds.
