The summer institute takes place at the Collegio Carlo Alberto which is located in the center of Torino. The address is Piazza Arbarello 8.
If you arrive by airplane, you can get a SADEM bus and get off at Porta Susa Station. More information is avalaible here.
If you arrive by train, you can get off at Porta Susa Station. The Collegio is a few minutes walk from there.

You should obviously bring clothes for warm and even hot weather (average temperatures for June and July are highs in the mid and upper 20s (degrees celcius), low around 15 (degrees celcius). Generally the dress code will be „grad school casual“ (including dinners). Bring a laptop (see below), the reading material that was sent to you, and notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. You may want to bring a swimsuit and athletic clothes for the facilities around the campus.
Yes, having your own computer is definitely an advantage, as you'll be more flexible in planning your working time, checking your private mail during your free time etc.
As we will be working in a computer lab with all the necessary software, this is not a must. It still probably pays off having „R“ on your computer, which is open source and easy to obtain via www.r-project.org.
