Welcome to the website of our team!

We are interested in the effects of parental mental disorders (especially depression and anxiety disorders) and early traumatic experiences on child psychological development (among others stress and emotion regulation, attachment). In this context, we focus in particular on behavioral (parent-child interaction and couple interaction) and psychobiological transmission mechanisms (indirectly assessed via endocrine and peripheral physiological parameters). Our experimental clinical research involves both basic and application-oriented questions.

To address the complexity of these research questions, we use a wide range of methods: In addition to multi-perspective self and peer assessment and interview data, social interaction paradigms, standardized developmental tests as well as ambulatory assessment and imaging (fMRI), our research also includes the evaluation of neuroendocrine (cortisol, alpha-amylase, oxytocin) and peripheral physiological correlates.
