Mandatory and Research Internships

On this page, students at the School of Social Sciences can find useful information about the mandatory internship and the research internship. The Internship Office will support you during your entire program and seeks to establish important corporate connections.

Mandatory internship

Internships are an integral part of the curriculum in all bachelor's programs at the School of Social Sciences. They allow our students to be prepared for their professional career in the best way possible. Apart from that, they enable them to put the knowledge acquired during their studies – particularly their methodical skills – into practice. The School’s very own Internship Office helps students find suitable internships through its exclusive Mannheim Internship Program (MAP) and regularly publishes vacancies in the newsletter and the job database. In the courses of the Career Development Module, students also gain valuable insights into possible career options. You can create a mandatory internship certificate yourself via AretUM.
