Julia Semmelbeck

Julia Semmelbeck joined the team in 2013 as a research assistant. She is a PhD Candidate at the Doctoral Center in Social and Behavioral Science (CDSS) at the University of Mannheim. She holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Public Law and Russian from the University of Regensburg. Before joining the team she worked as a research assistant at the University of Stuttgart. In the summer of 2014 she joined the U.S. National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) as a research fellow. Her research interests include terrorism and co­unterterrorism as well as network analysis. Specifically, her work focuses on the logistical supply chain networks of terrorist campaigns and how those networks can inform co­unterterrorism strategies.
