Preliminary schedule:

Session 1 : Introduction

  • Review of the basics: Theory, hypothesis; What is RQ? What kind of RQ one can and cannot answer in Political Science?

Session 2: Research questions & Research Designs

  • Preliminary outlines of the RQ;
  • Methods to address the RQ
  • Problems faced

Session 3: Finalizing the RQ and RD

  • Hypotheses, expectations

Session 4: Progress and discussions

  • Outlines of progress
  • Problems faced

Session 5: Progress and Discussion

Session 6: Final discussion

  • Problems in analysis;
  • Formatting

 

Important information:

To ensure students are in the best possible position to start their research at the time of registration, students considering participating in this colloquium need to submit a short (1-3 pages) outline of their possible research question and research strategy by 24 March.

Potential dissertation topics:

International Organizations; IO and Inequality; European Politics; the EU decision-making;

Scope and Language:

The dissertation should be written in English and should not exceed a maximum amount of 10 000 words.

Grading:

The dissertation will be graded on regular basis (1,0 – 1,3 – 1,7 – 2,0 etc.)
