Alexander Kustov, who wrote his MA thesis with Prof. Carey and is now a PhD student at Princeton University, published his first article, based on his MA dissertation, in Conflict Management and Peace Science, entitled “How ethnic structure affects civil conflict: A model of endogenous grievance”. Congratulations to this great achievement!

Julia Semmelbeck attends a workshop about the ‘Challenges and Perspectives in Modelling the Spatial Dynamics of Conflict and Terrorism’ at the University of St Adrews, Scotland on December 3rd. The workshop is organized by the CSTPV (The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence) and brings together leading scholars in the field of terrorism and conflict studies as well as statistical modelling.
