On Tuesday, 27.10.2015, 12:00 (room 121) Julius Heß, who is a researcher at the Zentrum für Militärgeschichte und Sozialwissenschaften der Bundeswehr, will give a talk at the chair.

Julius will present his dissertation called “Leviathan Staggering – A Quantitative Analysis of the State’s Coercive Capacity, Civil Peace, and the Feasibility of Insurgency”.

Adam Scharpf will present his paper “Regimes, Organizational Rivalry, and Repression in Counterinsurgency Wars” at the Workshop of the European Network of Conflict Research (ENCoRe), which will take place from 1st-2nd of October in Barcelona. ENCoRe brings together scholars in at least 10 countries and aims at creating innovative tools for data integration and analysis in the field of conflict research.

Adam Scharpf will teach a course on visualizing data and statistical results in Stata, 11 September – 26 September, 2015. The course is taught in cooperation with the Zentrum für Schlüsselqualifikationen at the University of Mannheim.
