Mascha Rauschenbach and Adam Scharpf will both be presenting their dissertation work at the GESS Research Day 2013, on Friday, 22 November 2013 at the Univeristy of Mannheim.

Mascha Rauschenbach will be presenting a paper titled: “Targeting Responsive Constituents: The Strategic Promising of Local Club Goods in Ghana’s 2012 Election Campaign”.

Adam Scharpf will be presenting a paper titled: “Government Forces, Militias, and Massacres: How Organizations trigger Violence against Civilians”.

The film “An African Election”, a documentary on Ghana’s 2008 General Elections will be screened on Monday, 25, November 2013, 7 pm in A 5, 6 Bauteil B – B 317. Entrance is of course free and everybody is welcome.

Maxwell Ashon, researcher at the Center for Democratic Development Ghana, will virtually deliver a talk about his experience as an election observer in Ghana. The lecture will be projected via skype on Monday, December, 2, 2013, 12 am,  in A 5, 6 Bauteil B – B 318 in the context of a Hauptseminar. Students who are not taking part in the seminar are welcome to attend.
