The German Foundation for Peace Research (DSF) is funding the pilot study “Micro-Level Consequences of Group Violence” (MLCGV). This study is led by Prof. Gerald Schneider, University of Konstanz and Prof. Sabine Carey is part of this research group, which brings together five insitutions in Germany. The aim of the project is to combine polititical science and economic approachs to studying micro-level consequences of internal armed conflict.

In order to explore the relationship between reform agenda, implementation, and outcomes, we conduct a review of the large but almost entirely qualitative literature on good governance reform in the 49 countries classed as low income by the United Nations (2010).  We code literature on good governance public sector reform agenda and implementation.  We then examine reform agendas and the relationship to service delivery and outcomes, particularly as measured by performance of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) indicators.
