The second copy of your thesis has to be submit at the Studienbüro II, Frau Stepken.

Unfortunately, Frau Stepken will be out of office on 13.05.2013 and Mr. Pfeifer will take the 2. exemplar. Another option is to use Expressschalter, L 1,1, EG, Mo 09:00 – 17:00.

Paulina Pospieszna attending Tempus Project Workshop in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Dr Pospieszna will represent the Lehrstuhl at the Human Rights Education Workshop organized within EU Tempus project Developing Human Rights at the Heart of Higher Education in the Western Balkans (HEART– Higher Education ACtion for Rights Teaching). The workshop will take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2012. It will bring together representatives of partner institutions associated with the project. Hannah Smidt admitted to a PhD program at UCL

Hannah Smidt will pursue her doctoral degree in Political Science at the University College London (UCL). She will be doing research on how peacekeeping affects election-related violence. Her PhD studies will be fully funded by the Graduate Research Scholarship of UCL.

Sabine Carey appointed to the ISA Professional Development Committee

Sabine Carey has been appointed to the Professional Development Committee of the International Studies Association (ISA). Previously she has served the Association as Vice President, Program Co-Chair, appointed member of the Executive Committee and elected non-North American member of the Governing Council.

Having previously served on the editorial board of International Interactions, Sabine Carey will be Associate Editor when a new editorial team takes over in January 2014. Professor Michael Colaresi and Professor Gerald Schneider will be Managing Editors, and Professors Margit Bussmann (University of Greifswald), Ben Fordham (Binghamton University) and Burçu Savun (University of Pittsburgh) additional Associate Editors.

We are very excited that our team has been extended by three additional people. Franziska Langer and Sarah Bressan are BA students and are now working as research assistant at the Chair. Anita Gohdes working on calculating conflict-related deaths in Syria

Anita Gohdes will be spending two weeks working with the Human Rights Data Analysis Group in San Francisco, conducting multiple systems estimation (MSE) analyses to estimate the total number of conflict-related deaths, both those documented and undocumented, in the current armed conflict in Syria.
