  •  De-Standardization of the Life-Course?
A central hypothesis in discussions on the process of individualization suggests that many binding restrictions have disappeared nowadays, behavioural options have increased and therefore living arrangements have diversified. However, most studies dealing with this hypothesis refer to cross-sectional data, which can only provide 'snap-shots' of the distribution of living arrangements in the population. This project tries to measure the extent of de-standardization empirically with cohort-based longitudinal data.

Brüderl/Klein (2002) Die Pluralisierung partnerschaftlicher Lebensformen im Kohortenverlauf.
This was one of the first papers in the literature that tried to measure the extent of de-standardization of life-courses.

Brüderl (2004) Die Pluralisierung partnerschaftlicher Lebensformen in Deutschland und Westeuropa.
